**What does the Accounts Assistant job entail?**
- Accurate maintenance of the purchase, sales and nominal ledgers and the cashbook.
- Control and reconciliation of petty cash
- Periodic reconciliation of ledger accounts
- Compilation of the monthly payment run and ad hoc cheques as necessary
- Matching of purchase orders to invoices
- Maintenance of credit control process.
- To effectively contribute to the handling of all incoming and outgoing calls to ensure they are dealt with in a professional manner and meet agreed Company Standards.
- Maintain customer portals ensuring start PO, final PO and payments are received within agreed timescales.
- Supervise customer payments to identify customers exceeding their credit limits, to control outstanding bills and to meet the set targets.
- Compilation of daily branch banking
- Supervising the authorisation of invoices.
- Liaise with debt recovery agencies
- Involvement in periodic stocks checks and reconciliations
- Assistance with any other task as directed
- Reception cover for sickness and illness

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£24,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

**Experience**:

- Accounts receivable: 1 year (preferred)
- Credit Control: 1 year (preferred)
- administration: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)

Work authorisation:

- United Kingdom (required)
