**Mid / Corporate Account Manager / Senior Account Handler - Directors’ Portfolio (Some work from home)**

**The Managing Director of this Chartered broking house seeks a dedicated Commercial Account Handler to manage his personal portfolio. As such, this is a varied, high profile and challenging position, and your successes will be visible to colleaguesacross the business.**

It is truly an exciting time to be joining this prestigious firm as it continues to grow, both by way of the acquisition of quality accounts and through the appointment of high calibre staff. Indeed, this position has arisen due the Caterham branch portfolioachieving record new business figures, and the management team taking the decision to reallocate some accounts in light of the incumbent Account Handlers skills, experiences and ambitions.

Working closely with the Director in question, you will assume control of the day-to-day management of his portfolio. These accounts are from a wide variety of industry sectors (from Property Owners to the Professions, and everything in between), but thereis a definite bias towards Contracting trades and higher-liability industries. For example, the portfolio comprises some challenging accounts with Asbestos Removal, Ground Works and Engineering, many of which have combined gross written premiums in excessof a million pounds.

You will be responsible for administering mid-term adjustments, preparing reports and conducting renewal and marketing exercises. You will also be expected to lead broking campaigns for new business cases won by the Director. In order to understand the risksfaced by your clients and help design an insurance programme that mitigates against these, you will be encouraged to develop a deep understanding of all of the businesses in your portfolio, including attending site visits and the like. As one would expect,you will also be responsible for negotiating with Underwriters to obtain the most comprehensive cover at competitive premiums. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to help less-experienced colleagues on an ad hoc-basis and deputise in the absenceof the line manager.

Given the nature of the some of the accounts handled, it is essential that you have an abundance of personality and can get on with people from all walks of life - wallflowers need not apply You must be 'on the ball’ and prepared to have difficult conversationswith clients in order to ensure their programmes remain suited to their needs. As such, you must have excellent questioning skills, to identify gaps in cover and the like.

As a supporter of flexible-working, you will be welcome to work from home several days per week.
