**Production Planner**

We are recruiting for a company based in Leeds 11 who require an experienced Production Planner to join their established family-owned business. They are a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment and pioneers of ultra-lowloss amorphous transformer technology. Their flagship product saves money, energy and carbon and offers an innovative solution to the worldwide challenge of reducing energy wastage.

**What’s the job**:
As Production Planner you will plan the production schedule by liaising with sales, engineering, and operations to ensure we fulfil our order schedule.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Produce the production schedule
- To develop the production planning process, considering all inputs, skill sets, capacity availability, production process, versus the demands of the order book
- Define daily and weekly production plans
- Manage capacity planning and resources to ensure products are completed on time and in full
- Maintain and update the Progress system.
- Work with Contracts and Engineering and to ensure that the planning data is correct and updated when required
- Conduct scenario analysis and recovery plans.
- Update the Contracts and Production teams on any changes or possible issues
- Analyse and revise production plans and update deadlines.
- Attend relevant meetings to ensure production flow is efficient and to schedule.
- Identify root cause of any issues and implement corrective actions.
- Continually review and develop our planning system and processes

**Skills, Knowledge & Experience**:

- Experience in production planning is essential
- Strong knowledge of capacity planning is essential
- Experience of working within an engineering environment is essential
- Experience of working with transformers is desirable
- Demonstrable experience of system and process improvement
- Continuous improvement capabilities
- Good interpersonal skills with a 'can-do’ attitude
- Excellent I.T. skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong communicator with the ability to challenge peers
- Experience working with Progress software is desirable
- Flexibility to adapt to change
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to work to strict timelines
