We are currently recruiting for a Technical Author Assistant (TAA) to join the RRSL Availability Centre, based in Derby.

The role is within the Technical Documentation team, focused on the creation and amendment of technical documentation, offering a combination of responsive issue support and optimised maintenance management to deliver first class support to the submarine’s enterprise, in turn maximising and improving the availability of RN submarines.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. **What you will be doing**

As the Technical Documentation TAA you will be a point of contact for dealing with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Enterprise partners and other Rolls-Royce departments. You will assist in enabling the development and delivery of maintenance and operational Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP) technical documentation used by engineering teams across the enterprise. To do this you will:

- Assisting with the production of new procedures, ensuring work files are created and maintained
- Chasing and progressing feedback/updates to procedures and initiate approvals process.
- Liaising with different stakeholders to ensure all procedures remain in date and are reviewed routinely.
- Conducting simple changes to Books of Reference (BR) or Data Module (DM) documentation prior to release to the main stakeholder.
- Representing the team where required at review meetings.
- Supporting the co-ordination and attending Derby Procedure Authorisation Committee (DERPAC) meetings.

- Strong administrative skills with good attention to detail with documentation and reports
- Understanding of and familiarity with scientific / measurement units.
- Comfortable working in a team or individually.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- GCSE grade 4-9 or equivalent in both English and Mathematics
- Knowledge of Naval Nuclear Power Plant (or civil PWR plant) - not essential but desirable _
