Multi Skilled Operative

**Job description**

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an Multi Skilled Operative (Days) to join our Team in the Midlands region.

The Multi Skilled Operative (MSO) role involves loading & unloading vehicles in the container terminal.
- Stack shipping containers. Effectively and safely operate container handling equipment. Communicate with yard team and container controllers to ensure efficient working and accuracy in terms of the correct container timing and availability.
- Ensure containers are stacked in accordance with the safe system, in a safe manner
- Continually communicate with yardmen and container control, to ensure efficient working and accuracy in terms of the correct container availability on time.
- Continually check containers from your vision point for damage and highlight any concerns.
- Ensure hazardous containers are stacked separately.
- Maintain records in accordance with company policy, particularly daily defect sheets.
- Ensure you steam clean containers to a high standard in line with customer requirements.
- Ensure the steam cleaning area is kept clean and tidy.
- Observe and understand all risk assessments applicable to your area and the safe systems of work.

**Hours of Work**: Full-time, permanent position. Day positions available with a two-shift pattern.

**Location**: Cannock

**Salary**: £12.33 per hour with an increase after completion of training

**Job responsibilities of Multi Skilled Operative include**:

- Proactive, innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
- A mature approach to H&S.
- Experience in an counterbalance forklift preferred (Training can be provided).
- The ability to ensure records are maintained, with attention to detail.
- Numerical and analytical skills
