We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join our Shared Services team in Cheltenham. This role provides key support to the business through maintaining the company purchase and sales ledger. Working as part of a team you will have a keen eyefor detail, ensuring all data is correct and invoices are processed correctly. The wider team covers all aspects of financial reporting and accounting for Lifestory and will provide exposure and support to this role.

**The Role**

? Purchase Ledger activities, which includes but is not limited to:

- Coding, batching and processing all invoices on a daily basis including matching to purchase orders and obtaining authorisation for payment in line with company policy
- Ensuring all transactions and VAT are accurately recorded
- Liaising with regions and group teams on queries and requests
- Investigating purchase ledger queries
- Processing and payment of expenses
- Reconciling suppliers' statements and ensuring queries are handled promptly and correctly
- Assisting in the preparation and production of weekly cheque/BACS payments
- Assisting in the maintenance of schedules and making payment of Council Tax, Utility and other charges due
- CIS Returns

? Sales Ledger activities, which includes but is not limited to:

- Coding, batching and processing 3rd Party sale completions and Housing Association
- Ensuring all transactions are appropriately supported and recorded
- Producing Sundry sales/intercompany recharge/rental invoices

? Other responsibilities include:

- Coins Master data maintenance
- Annual audit support

**Requirements**:
Experience of working in a purchase / sales ledger role is critical for this role, along with good experience of using an accounting software (COINS is an advantage). Your organisational and communication skills must be excellent, as well as a good attentionto detail.

An AAT qualification and / or construction sector experience are desirable but not essential.
