Your new role
The Business Planning Manager will be responsible for managing the link between the Cyber Security and Information Rights strategy and the resource forecast up to 2030 and beyond. Security capability is a strategic capability within National Highways whichallows National Highways to operate as a resilient business. We allocate resources on a risk-based approach with our focus on ensuring critical services and assets are known, understood and resilient. To meet our objectives effectively we need to develop andmaintain a number of planning scenarios which can be continuously modelled to ensure we are able to adapt to any changes in our environment.
The Business Planning Manager will be responsible for overseeing this work, coaching, advising and supporting the senior leadership within CSIR to be able to develop and maintain accurate forecasts. They will also be responsible for analysis and reconciliations;and making improvements to procedures and controls. They will act as both a coach and adviser to the senior leadership within CSIR ensuring that the link between strategy and resource allocation is well understood and accurately forecast. They will raise anyvariations with the necessary steering forums for assessment.
The Business Planning Manager will also be responsible for aligning the competence strategy for Cyber Security and Information Rights across National Highways, playing a key role in enabling tactical and strategic decision making within the department.
What you’ll be leading on
- Lead on scenario planning and maintaining forecast and actuals within our KPI
- Drive resource and cost planning activities across all Cyber Security and Information Rights business areas according to the department strategy, provide input into key business decisions for the department
- Manage the financial forecast that underpins the Cyber Security and Information Rights strategy implementation
- Assist in preparing the CSIR strategic plan by analysing trends and forecasts
- Facilitate timely alignment and sign-off from Chief Information Security Officer and other relevant senior stakeholders on resource requirements and financial forecast
- Progress the resource utilisation roadmap with the Cyber Security and Information Rights Leadership team
- Lead on the competency planning and delivery and resource fulfilment process, based on business requirements and Cyber Security and Information Rights strategy
- Lead the financial analysis of monthly and quarterly spend/forecast and presenting findings and any variations in timely manner to the board. Report on relevant operational measurements and KPIs
- Represent the Cyber Security and Information Rights area in both internal and external demand management and financial forums, act as the single point of contact for financial matters with the Finance Business Partner and Commercial and Procurement representatives.
- Understand business direction and needs and develop solutions, roadmaps and assessment of potential business impacts
To be successful
- Academic achievement to degree or postgraduate level (MBA) or equivalent qualifications in Business Studies, International Relations with evidence of analytical data within the course content
- Highly numerate with a high level of competence in Microsoft Excel
- Preferable to have a basic understanding of cyber security and a willingness to learn, including gaining appropriate professional cyber security certifications through National Highways-sponsored training
