Processing personal data of millions of people and building innovative digital products and services for the payroll and HR services market requires SD Worx to maintain high standards for the processing of our customer data. **The Privacy and Data Protection team** within our Risk & Security division is an international group of privacy professionals providing assurance on the privacy compliance and capabilities of the various SD Worx products and services. Within the Privacy and Data Protection team, we are looking for a **Privacy Officer** who will be coordinating our privacy activities with a primary focus on the** UK and Ireland** and will report into the Group Privacy Manager, located in SD Worx headquarters in Belgium.

**Your tasks**

As a **Privacy Officer**, your aim is to monitor and improve the privacy and data protection controls and the privacy program for the UK & Ireland and to actively contribute in further developing and improving the broader privacy program of the SD Worx group. You’re able to achieve that by working on the following major activities:
External on privacy compliance
- Continuously monitor applicable laws, regulations, cases, standards and market practices within privacy in the UK & Ireland
- Communicate constructively with SD Worx’ customers, suppliers and other external stakeholders on privacy-related matters (RFI and RFPs, compliance inquiries and assessments, breach handling, other)
- Support contract negotiations on privacy matters with customers and suppliers

Privacy development
- Partner with various stakeholders throughout the organisation to ensure personal data is managed in compliance with privacy policies and procedures;
- Ensure alignment of the privacy controls and policies in the UK and Ireland with SD Worx’ corporate privacy framework;
- Lead or support incident and personal data breach handling;
- Support and contribute in the development and maintenance of controls, policies and other instruments to continuously improve SD Worx’ privacy posture;
- Continue to operationalize privacy in the UK and Ireland by educating people and supporting the development of process descriptions, guidelines, checklists, etc.

Audit, control & reporting
- Monitor and follow-up on the maturity of the privacy program for the UK & Ireland through relevant privacy metrics;
- Support the assurance reporting of the ISAE3000 privacy control framework.

**Your profile**

Technical Competencies:

- You have practical experience with monitoring and implementing privacy and data protection controls of minimum 2 years
- You understand the foundations of EU and UK data protection law and have knowledge on how to translate these into a business environment
- You are confident and able to debate technical approaches and tradeoffs in products and business processes vs privacy

Personal Competencies:

- Passionate in driving and improving privacy and data protection by influencing others
- You are autonomous, proactive and like to take initiative
- You have good communication skills and are able to translate legal compliance requirements and constraints and articulate business impact
- You are comfortable with a pragmatic, hands-on approach and are able to manage ambiguity
- You love to work in an international team in which you will have contact with colleagues from multiple countries and backgrounds
- Excellent English language skills
- You are preferably based in the UK or Ireland and you can work in a hybrid way combining on-site work and limited travel with home office work
