THE BUSINESS
Ted’s After School and Holiday Club is an Ofsted registered After School Club that provides after school care and holiday clubs for children aged between 4-11 years old in Captain Ted's children's entertainment centre in the heart of Gosforth.

After school club runs from 3.15pm to 6.15pm Monday to Friday. Holiday club 8.30am to 5.30pm.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manging Director of Captain Ted's, you’ll be a key part of the team that runs the childcare part of the business. You will assist in the running of Ted's including planning and delivering activities to engage children between 4 and 11 years old, creating a purposeful and attractive learning environment. You will possess excellent behavioural management skills, able to make the activities fun for children whilst keeping control of the group. You will be in charge of the supervision and welfare of children who attend the after school club. As well as maintaining an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness, order and customer service. This is very much a hands-on job, doing as well as managing

ABOUT YOU
You are a hard-worker who relishes responsibility. You enjoy working in a busy, fast-paced (and occasionally chaotic) environment, and thrive on the multi-tasking required when such a business is busy. You appreciate the importance of adhering closely to established working processes and are capable of creating new ones to improve the effectiveness of our daily operation. You are competent in using computer systems, to oversee paperwork for the club (registers, signing in sheets, medical forms etc). You actively support your staff and delegate effectively to them and have experience of training new staff. You are positive and energetic with a good sense of humour, you understand what makes parents and young children tick, and are passionate about customer service. Working with the MD and Admin Assistant to promote and market the After School Club to maintain occupancy levels. You like to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in, rather than stand back and watch your team doing the work. Perhaps most importantly of all, you are outgoing, a people person, who loves working with others, with a proven ability to foster a happy, close-knit atmosphere within the whole team, and to develop excellent relationships with many regular customers.

YOUR EXPERIENCE
Experience is key. You have at least 2 years of work experience, in a child care role You have a proven track record in successfully managing a team. You have or can obtain a DBS and Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Level 3 Childcare

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The following would all be valuable but not essential: knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage and Ofsted Statutory Framework, knowledge of child protection procedures in relation to safeguarding, Food Hygiene qualification; Health & Safety training; Catering and Food preparation Level 1 & 2;Paediatric First Aid.

**Salary**: Negotiable depending upon experience. We offer good opportunities for training and development.

Pay: £11.50-£13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 40 per week
