We are delighted to be working with the Saffron Building Society, a highly successful and customer focussed Mutual, to recruit an experienced Head of People to support their future goals whilst guiding and managing the overall provision of HR, Talent andDevelopment. Reporting directly to the CEO, your role will be to lead, develop and implement the HR strategy, ensuring the HR portfolio is aligned to the businesses overall objective of creating 'money happiness’ and attaining an Amazing Employer Brand.

As Head of People you will manage and lead the People team (currently a team of 7 and overall circa. 175 FTE) toenhance the colleague experience for all employees, by advising on best practice and regulatory matters while drivingthe people agenda. You willbe a self
- starter with the desire and ability to have an impact across all areas of the business and to nurture a real performance culture. To achieve this, you will feel comfortable challenging the accepted norm using your exceptional powers of persuasion.In return, you will be supported by an outstanding Executive team allowing you to have a voice at the most senior level.

The Head of People is a key leadership role with committee and board attendance, actions and responsibilities, including:

- **Strategic HR** - own the People Strategy to ensure it aligns with the Amazing Employer Brand strategic goal. Design and lead on people focused projects, embedding a performance culture
- **Operational HR** - leading and coaching the talented HR team within operating budget, ensuring it is empowered and supported to perform to its full potential. Manage the full employee life-cycle including Recruitment, Renumeration & Reward,HR Policies, Talent Management & Development, Diversity & Inclusion and Succession Planning
- **People Management** - create a culture & framework where employees are encouraged to develop to their full potential. Identifying people trends and advising and implementing recommended actions, including hybrid working
- **Executive**:

- Member of Executive and Remuneration Committees and attendee of Board and ad-hoc Nominations Committee. You will therefore contribute to the strategic vision and play an active part with the Executive to grow and develop thebusiness, representing them at social and community events
- Experience of leading and inspiring a strategic HR team in a highly regulated environment, financial services would be highly beneficial
- Level 5 CIPD qualified (or equivalent) or above
- An inquiring mind, strong relationship skills, pragmatism and a high level of attention to detail.
- Be commercially astute with the ability to merge the People Agenda with the commercial needs to the business

They currently have a hybrid working policy in place, based around purpose for being in the office rather than simply a 'tick box’. However, as head of its people there is regular office attendance expected of this role, it is not a remote position. Theyare flexible in working hours, including 4 days a week.
