**Hours**: Full time - min 40 hours per week to include evenings, weekends and bank holidays

**Salary**:£35,000 - £37,000 per annum

**Location**: The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton & Other Venues

**The Role**

Somerset County Cricket Club's Tier One Women's status brings a new, exciting opportunity for a Women's Assistant Coach and Batting Lead to join our professional cricket department.

The role's main purpose is to enhance the batting skills of both Senior and Academy players within the Somerset County Cricket Club women's cricket programme. This role is crucial for maintaining high performance and competitiveness, ensuring that players are well-prepared for domestic competitions and first XI selection. The Women's Assistant Coach and Batting Lead will collaborate closely with professional and pathway staff to ensure a cohesive development strategy that aligns with the Somerset framework. Alongside this, the role provides support and coaching assistance as required by the Director of Cricket, Women’s Head Coach & Director of Talent & Development.

To give you a snapshot of what this role involves - you will be providing all-year round, high quality batting coaching and support, delivering elite 1-1 coaching sessions, and assisting with preparing, developing, and supporting the needs of the professional squad. You'll provide support in developing and implementing long-term strategy, oversee the batting talent pool, monitor and review player development and performance, and contribute to the talent identification process.

Amongst other essential criteria, you'll need to have a minimum ECB Level 3 or international equivalent coaching qualification and a proven track record of developing and supporting batting talent at both junior and senior levels, within an elite sporting environment. You have excellent organisation, communication and relationship building skills - alongside the ability to motivate and influence players, coaches and teams.
