Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently looking for a Principal/Civil/Structural Designer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

Technically competent Principal Civil / Structural Designer in compliance with Wood CAF minimum requirements.
- Provide technical assistance to plan and develop detailed design documents and drawings from specifications
- Support the Shell EPC structural engineering focal points & lead designer as requested
- Oversee production and checking of civil / structural design deliverables
- Ensure design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities, with correct interpretation and implementation of all structural CAD delvierables and systems
- Prepare and execute civil / structural discipline design and draughting activities within budget and schedule
- Proactive in all civil / structural design and layout including; setting layout concepts, assuring quality and consistency and meeting safety, operation, maintenance and construction requirements
- Provide site survey support as required to Shell EPC structural team
- Experienced with brownfield modification on existing infrastructures, e.g. pipe rack, and concrete foundations. These include the concrete repair, strengthening of the existing pipe rack, and concrete foundation
- Experienced in steel, concrete, and masonry design include the quality of civil works e.g., curing of concrete, pouring of concrete, falsework etc
- Earthwork (cut and fill)
- Support civil engineer to develop civil specifications, e.g. earthwork, pavement, piling, concrete, steelwork, drainage etc
- Temporary work design, e.g. sheet pile design, dewatering strategy
- Underground trenching design
- Road (vehicle, turning radius etc.) and Pavement study for the equipment installation
- Support civil engineer with creation of ground bearing assessment and strengthening of existing ground for crane use

Skills / Qualifications:

- An understanding of related engineering principles and practices, plus training and diversified experience in the field of activity is required
- Capable of interpreting key documents including; engineering standards, piping material specifications, P&IDs and Line Lists
- Technically oriented, mechanically inclined, good at mathematics and talented at translating intangible concepts into hands-on project plans
- Competent user of CAD/D software
