**Python Backend Developer - Contractor**
Rate: £650PD (Flexible)
Duration: 6 month initial contract with view to extend
Client: Tier 1 Global Bank
Start Date: ASAP
IR35: Inside
Location: 2-3 days a week in London office
**Project details**:
My global consultancy client is looking for a Python Backend Developer to support a Tier 1 Global Bank, deploying a team of developers to assist in creating a Data Observability Platform. Developers must be hands-on and must have **extensive Python experience with good containers and AKS/Kubernetes knowledge.**Flexible Hybrid work model (2 days)

**Responsibilities**:

- Build efficient back-end features in Python, including profiling and integrating large datasets
- Set-up and configure AKS clusters
- Support the design and implementation of functional requirements
- Implement best practise API designs including security
- Collaborate with Frontend Developers to implement design into the code
- Implement software enhancements and suggest improvements
- Contribute to CI/CD & Test automation
- Prepare technical documentation
**Key Experience/ Skills**:
**Must have**:

- Strong Python skills
- Good containers and AKS (Azure Kubernetes) experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
**Nice to have**:

- Azure Storage
- Serverless computing (ideally Azure Functions and Azure Webjobs)
- Experience of using Apache Spark / PySpark
- Productionizing Machine Learning projects or data analysis projects
- Pandas, Dask and handling big datasets
- Developing APIs (experience on FastAPI or similar will really appreciated)
