We are currently recruiting for Community Support Workers to work in our Supported Living Service in Walsall. You would be supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Challenging Behaviour. This is a rewarding opportunity with real career progression.

**Purpose of role**
Contribute to the ongoing support of Service Users, promoting their rights, independence and individuality.
Undertake the role of Key Worker to identified Service Users, supporting them to live a meaningful and valued lifestyle.
Essential Skills
- Experience of supporting vulnerable people

- A genuine enthusiasm to support adults to develop and achieve the things that are important to them
- A positive attitude
- Must be willing to work day and night shifts on a shift rotation basis
- FULL UK drivers licence to support the individual (beneficial)
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK Full Time (NO 20 HOURS)
Desirable Attributes
- Experience of supporting people with a learning disability, autism and complex needs
- Experience of supporting people who experience distress
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification
As a Community Support Worker, your day to day tasks will include:
- To provide support and personal care to individuals so they can live as independently as possible.
- To provide emotional support and encourage individuals to help themselves live fulfilling lives.
- To carry out domestic duties such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and helping the individuals with personal finances.
- Work flexibly according to the Service Users needs and wishes.
- Supporting individuals with taking medication, storage of medication and to follow record keeping procedures.
- Participate in training opportunities, formal and informal to gain a wide understanding of Service Users’ needs and disabilities so as to facilitate their independence and choice.
- Provide the opportunity for individuals to take part in leisure, social and education activities.
- To be able to deal with Challenging Behaviour and to diffuse situations using a Positive Behaviour Support approach.
- **Must**be able to commit to the following shift pattern: Day Shift 7:45am
- 8pm and Waking Night Shift 7:45pm - 8am on a shift rotation. Average 7 shifts over a fortnight.
- Start date: ASAP.
**Working relationships**
The post-holder will be required to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, management colleagues, visitors, carers, visiting professionals, commissioners and registration bodies.
**Reward Package**
- A competitive salary, depending on qualifications, for working a seven-shift fortnight
- £1 extra per hour overtime rate on top of basic
- Extra 0.50p per hour if you hold a Full UK Drivers Licence and regularly drive a service users vehicle.
