We are looking for Drivers to deliver essential highways services across Kent

**What is the purpose of this role?**
We are currently seeking a number of Drivers to work in one of our Haysden, Aylesford or Ashford depots in Kent.
As one of our Operatives you will be a part of our team who are delivering essential highways services across Kent on behalf of Kent County Council.
You will support in all aspects of highway maintenance works including routine and cyclical maintenance, minor civils’ works and the installation of low-speed temporary traffic management. In addition, you will have the chance to be involved in Winter and emergency call out work.
**What will this role involve?**
Maintain high technical standards
Attend project and work briefings as required
Drive/operate vehicles/plant requiring general and specialist skills including vehicle checks, routine maintenance, (e.g. oil and water checks) and cleaning
Undertake winter maintenance call out and standby
Take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect member of the public.
Carry out vehicle checks prior to shift starting, using a Checksafe App.
Record Drivers’ hours
**What are we looking for?**
Minimum Class C licence
Driver Qualification Card
Winter maintenance qualification (desirable) or experience
Ability to work 16:15 to 07:00 hrs Monday to Thursday and 16:15 Friday to 07:00 Monday
Problem solving skills
Self-motivated and pro-active in terms of delivering solutions
Good communication skills
fixed term contracts to support our essential work
