Buyer - Produce (L2)

**About the Role**

We're looking to recruit a Buyer to cover our Produce category. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring your supply base and the product range is optimised, proactively using data and analysis to maximize performance to and drive sales, profitability, and share growth to support the overall Ocado Retail strategy and goals.

**What you'll do**
- Managing supplier performance, identifying potential new suppliers, and support to build long term supplier relationships
- Using insight tools to analyse and understand performance issues and opportunities
- Conducting regular competitor website visits and reviewing customer insight and food trends, helping shape our future product and range requirements for our customers
- Sourcing customer/market insight-led ranges and product innovation
- Negotiating with suppliers to agree and deliver, market-leading joint business plans for your areas aligned to the customer plan & category strategy
- Negotiating on supplier-funded media and delivering against the target
- Planning and delivering trade, promotions & events plans, striving to exceed KPIs, drive customer penetration and basket spend
- Working with the Supply Chain team to ensure we have best-in-class availability, and helping get our products to our customers on time
- Working with suppliers and the category quality team to ensure product quality is achieved and maintained
- Adhering to all Ocado policies, storage, and handover protocols and successfully completing all of your training so that you have zero GSCOP breaches. Ensuring all agreements are recorded in writing, reporting GSCOP complaints to Legal within 48 hours of receipt
- Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence

**Who you are**
- At least 2 years experience as a Buyer
- Produce buying experience is desirable
- Strong negotiation skills
- Good commercial acumen
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Communicate and influence a wide range of audiences
- A great team player
- Results orientated
