**SALARY**:£19,740 - £20,309 per annum + Benefits (see below)

**LOCATION**: Coventry, West Midlands - occasional off-site working is required

**JOB TYPE**: Part-Time, Permanent

**WORKING HOURS**:30 hours per week, worked over 5 days on a rota basis including weekends. You will be required to start work between 6am and 7am.

Flexibility of working hours is required and includes working weekends.

**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Housekeeping Supervisor / Senior Housekeeper with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a team and managers, who is friendly, enthusiastic and can lead by example in ahands-on role.

Working as the Housekeeping Supervisor / Senior Housekeeper you will work within the housekeeping team on a daily basis ensuring customer care standards are met, allocating tasks, setting priorities, whilst delivering the highest standards of presentationin all buildings and facilities.

As the Housekeeping Supervisor / Senior Housekeeper you will join an organisation of progressive, passionate individuals working to make a difference in unconventional workplaces.

**DUTIES**

As the Housekeeping Supervisor / Senior Housekeeper your duties will include:

- Deliver cleaning standards against the agreed specification, ensuring industry and organisational standards are met
- Supervise, and work within, the cleaning team on a daily basis, allocating work, setting priorities and ensuring customer care standards are met
- Train staff in accordance with British Institute of Cleaning Science standards and train staff on correct equipment usage
- Order consumables stock
- Assist the Manager in recruiting, developing supporting and leading staff
- Ensure completion of all financial documentation in line with the organisation’s financial procedures (timesheets, invoices etc.)
- Support the duty management system for the premises and act as duty manager
- Support teamwork in the department by contributing to team meetings and carry out team briefings
- Contribute to appropriate staffing plans for routine and special events
- Conduct risk assessments of the cleaning operation and related activities as instructed by the Manager
- Ensure adequate usage of personal protective equipment
- Carry out and adhere to building locking and unlocking procedures, ensuring the security of staff, the building and its contents
- Ensure that the building is returned to agreed layout and appearance (furniture and movable fittings)
- Liaise with contractors when required
- Support the provision of facilities for conferences, ensuring the highest standards of customer service

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**

**ESSENTIAL SKILLS**
- Previous supervisory experience in a heavy-usage environment (venue or industrial)
- Commitment to delivery of high standards of work
- Good Verbal and Written communication skills
- Experience of leading and motivating a team
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Excellent organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrates tact and diplomacy
- Demonstrates initiative
- Assertive
- Flexible, able to work weekdays and weekends on a rota basis
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation: Particularly COSHH, PPE, manual handling
- Risk assessments
- Ability to lift objects (refuse bags, recycling bags)
- Commitment to equal opportunities

**DESIRABLE SKILLS**
- Experience of cleaning a multi-function venue
- Ability to liaise with contractors
- Experience of budget monitoring
- Computer literate, particularly with Word & Excel
