Youth Justice Service Early Help Practitioner
3 days ago
The Youth Justice Service (YJS) is looking for a YJS Early Help Worker to lead on our new Turnaround project. The key aim will be to collaborate with partner agencies to develop an integrated early help offer that prevents demand escalating.
The role will involve hybrid working which will see the worker engaging with children, young people and their families in the office environment, in school and at home.
There will be a requirement to engage young people and their families in order to gather information and complete written assessments which you will then analyse before preparing a targeted intervention plan.
The aim of the role will be to reduce the number of children and young people entering the criminal justice system through the offer of key areas of support and the delivery of preventative interventions.
Targeted outcomes will include improving school attendance, creating strong and resilient parents and families, who can manage children’s behaviour plus a reduction in the number of re-referrals into Children’s Social Care services.
The Council is highly committed to investing in the talent and wellbeing of our staff and can offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health & Wellbeing initiatives and a reward package which recognises your contribution. We can offer flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and, as part of our commitment to you, promote continuous Learning & Development. In addition we also offer a growing range of discounts, rewards and savings.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
Closing date: Sunday 14 April at 12 midnight
Interview date: Friday 19 April
