Assistant Clinical Practice Tutor

The Assistant Clinical Practice Tutor will assist in preparing and delivering education and training interventions and assessments to meet organisational needs and initiatives including income generation.
They will take responsibility as part of the Organisational Learning and Education team by assisting in the provision of professional education, training and learning opportunities within the Ambulance Education Centre and in localities.
When appropriate, to supply guidance to managers and their team members in order to improve the dissemination of learning within localities and facilitate the continuing professional development of Patient Transport staff.
This role is offered as part-time, 22.5 hours per week and will typically work Monday, Wednesday and Friday with some negotiation.
The Assistant Clinical Practice Tutor is primarily responsible for preparing and delivering training courses for Patient Transport Services (PTS) staff as well as interventions and assessments to meet organisational needs and initiatives, with an additional focus on mandatory/statutory training and work-based learning.
The contract for Derbyshire Patient Transport Services is held by East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) and there is an exciting opportunity for someone who is motivated and interested to lead on the education of the Patient Transport Service staff and also new starters coming to work on the contract in a patient facing capacity.
Following a period of induction and development if necessary, you will report to the Clinical Education Development Specialists and you will be accountable for the delivery of the service by providing knowledge, skills and direction in the delivery of training.
The Education Team embrace the EMAS Trust values and are committed to developing and delivering high quality clinical education which is student focused. You must be willing to undertake development to ensure you have the relevant competencies to teach all types of education delivered by the team.
The pandemic led to rapid developments within EMAS education therefore, you must be confident to deliver blended learning and utilise online systems (for example MS Teams/virtual learning environments) to deliver taught content/sessions.
- Provide a range of education and training to Patient Transport Services (PTS) as required, including but not limited to statutory and mandatory training and induction.
- Provide assessment and remedial training for staff following referrals from PTS managers.
- Monitor and evaluate the delivery of education, content and teaching materials to ensure the quality exceeds the minimum standards as required by internal and external quality assurance processes.
- To provide mentoring and where appropriate signpost students to pastoral services.
- At agreed times, undertake roster-based clinical duties by agreement with the Operations Management Team to support organisational goals and maintain personal skills.
