Warehouse Assistant/housekeeper

We have a dedicated team of employees in the production and marketing of more than 15 million items per year; from creating and testing, through to designing, manufacturing and marketing products and we are looking to recruit additional members to join our Warehouse Team to ensure that our products are delivered to our customers in an accurate, timely, safe and cost efficient manner.

We currently have a permanent vacancy for a Warehouse Assistant/Housekeeper at our Dispatch Warehouse in Sowerby Woods, Barrow-in-Furness.

This is a manual job, therefore you will be required to reach and bend. You should be self-motivated as well as a good team player and be able to work under pressure in a fast moving environment. We expect that ideas and suggestions are made so that continuous improvement is part of day to day life in the Warehouse and you will commit to Wax Lyrical’s Values, Policies, Procedures & Objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Picking and Packing as part of a team
- Ensuring the stock is correct
- Packing orders to ensure they travel without damages
- To ensure order goes to the correct delivery address
- Read and act on special instructions to avoid delay in delivery e.g. booking in/date required
- Ensure the correct paperwork travels with goods e.g. DGN/Commercial Invoice/Delivery note
- To be able to follow procedures on Sage and relevant carriers software
- Administration tasks for Customers as required
- Ensuring packing lists are filled in accurately
- Ensuring you remain professional when dealing with customers
- To assist with Contracted / Export Bulk orders
- To assist with cycle counts to ensure accuracy of stock
- Deal with stock returns in a timely manner ensuring the correct paperwork is forwarded to the relevant Departments
**When Housekeeping**:

- Keep Sowerby site clean and tidy at all times, ensuring high standards of housekeeping
- Ensure waste is disposed of in a timely way and is appropriately segregated to enable recycling.
- Empty waste bins from all areas daily.
- Clean toilets, canteen and office areas regularly.
- Carry out deep cleans as per agreed schedule and as and when required.
**Everyone Always**:

- Ensuring downtime is minimised and looking for ways to continually reduce down time
- Ensuring waste is minimised and looking for ways to continually reduce
- Resolving problems that stop or hinder the picking and packing process and communicating with team leaders if this happens
- Ensuring all required paperwork/recording of information is accurate and completed on time
- Wearing the appropriate level of PPE
- Ensure process documentation exists for all tasks, is accurate, updated regularly and followed
- Recognise and raise NCR’s
- Ensuring the team follows the 5S principles
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping in the area
- Ensuring that ideas and suggestions to that area are made so that continuous improvement is part of day to day life in the Warehouse

- Any other duties as required from time to time
