**The Role**:
An exciting and challenging opportunity awaits a organised and dynamic individual to work within an award-winning, multi-disciplinary consultancy business. You will work on a range of ecological projects across England and Wales, requiring a mixture of field and office-based skills.

**Salary & Benefits**_**:_ We offer a fantastic working environment with a strong remuneration package. Salary will be dependent on experience, but the Ecologist band is £25-£30,000 (full time), and Senior Ecologist £30-£36,000 (full time). We are open to the position being a taken on a full (37.5hrs) or part-time (30hrs) basis.

**Specification**:

- Ecologist-Grade Experience:_
- Established professional Ecologist, with at least 1.5 years professional consultancy experience.
- Proficient in Preliminary Ecological Assessments with good botanical skills.
- Experienced in bat surveys and assessments.
- Holding at least one protected species survey class license (bat, gcn, dormouse).
- Experience in report production, client liaison and project management.
- CIEEM Qualifying / Associate membership.
- Senior Ecologist Experience:_
- Established professional Ecologist, with at least 4 years consultancy experience.
- Proficient in Preliminary Ecological Assessment with good botanical skills.
- Experience with protected species work, including obtaining EPS Mitigation (development) licenses (for bats and/or gcn) and personal survey licenses. Being a Registered Consultant for Natural England’s BMCL (or Earned Recognition Scheme) and/or GCN LICL would be very advantageous.
- Full working knowledge of relevant wildlife/environmental legislation and policy, the planning process, EcIA and Appropriate Assessment.
- Experience in report production, client liaison and project management.
- CIEEM Full / Associate membership.
- Outlook & Character:_
- Confident and sociable person with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Commercial awareness and initiative to make best use of time and opportunities.
- Ability to prioritise own workload to meet the requirements of the company.
- Full driving license and access to own vehicle.
