Job description

Part time (minimum 3 days per week) fixed term contract May to October.

We are looking for someone to help us on our oyster farm in Poole Harbour, Dorset.

The job will entail repair and maintenance of our steel barges, cages and general equipment on the farm.

This job would be ideal for a semi-retired tradesman looking for part time work for the summer.

Tasks include:
Repair of barge superstructures.

Refurbishment and repair of oyster cages.

Replacement of deck plating.

Maintenance of boats and equipment, including using needle gun and painting.

Machinery repair and installation.

Be confident with stick welding.

Have good mechanical ability.

Have good levels of fitness, this is a physical job.

Be able to operate a forklift.

Be willing to work outside in all weathers.

Be able to swim.

All relevant PPE, lifejackets etc will be provided.

Number of days per week negotiable, minimum 3. Fixed term contract ends October 2025.

**Salary**: £15.00 /hour paid monthly PAYE.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
