An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled enthusiastic HCPC registered Dietitian with excellent communication, clinical, and leadership skills to join our friendly and supportive team at St Andrews Healthcare. St. Andrew’s Healthcare is a leading,not for profit, provider of in-patient psychiatric care. This post will be on our Birmingham site, which provides care to men and women within medium and low secure divisions.

Meeting nutritional needs in a Mental health setting can be challenging but very rewarding with the opportunity to make a significant difference to patient care. Support will be available from your line manager and colleagues in the dietetic team.

The successful applicant will join our friendly and supportive dietetic team also based in Northampton and Essex. While you would be, our sole qualified representative on the Birmingham site, support will always be available from the rest of the team. Weare also committed to on-going professional development and have monthly professional meetings, which you will be supported to attend.

The wider team includes 1 band 4 assistant practitioner, 2 Nutritionists, 3 band 5 dietitians, 1 band 6 dietitians and a further 7 band 7 dietitians. Your dietetic caseload would be varied and could include management of nutrition support, Diabetes (Type1 and Type 2), weight management, gastroenterology, dysphagia diets, food allergies, intolerance and management of over and under hydration. You may also have the opportunity to manage a small caseload of patients with eating disorder / disordered eating.Previous experience of working with a variety of nutritional needs and an interest in mental health would be desirable for this post.

St Andrews has a strong ethos of multidisciplinary working and has close links with Speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and the ward teams. The dietetics team also works closely with the on-site catering team who provide a fresh cook catering service,which is tailored to patients’ needs.
