Part Time Payroll Administrator

SF Recruitment is currently working with a brilliant business based in Castle Donington who are looking for a Temporary Part Time Payroll Administrator. This project role is predicted to last for a minimum of 6 months. You will join a stable business who offer a great working environment, on site parking, hybrid working and an attractive pay.
Main Purpose of Job:
- Oversee the end to end payroll process.
Principle Tasks/ Main Duties
- Manage and process in a timely manner monthly end to end payroll for 3 UK businesses.
- Ensure all fixed and variable payroll elements are accurate each month and fully checked for payroll system calculation accuracy.
- Run and check pre-commit reports and enter corrections as necessary within payroll cut off dates.
- Be the first point of contact for all payroll queries, HMRC enquiries, general tax queries and pension queries.
- Ensure absence is appropriately tracked and recorded and any payroll implications are identified and dealt with appropriately, eg. Sick pay entitlements, parental payments, unpaid leave etc.
- Produce the payroll journals in conjunction with the Accounts Department.
- Ensure payroll/HR database is fully maintained, accurate and compliant with legislation.
- On-board new starters, process leavers, and changes to terms and conditions on the payroll system.
- Manage the auto enrolment process and all pension administration.
- Complete P11ds and Class 1A NI paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, reviewing and improving processes to reduce, mitigate or remove risk.
- Process invoices that come into the HR Department.
- Provide high quality advice to employees and managers regarding payroll related queries.
- Maintain knowledge of payroll legislation.
- Liaise with auditors for both payroll and pension.
- Perform any other duties commensurate with the job grade as reasonably required from time to time.
Personal Specification
**Qualifications**:
- A good level of formal education including GCSE Maths and English (Level 2)
Experience
- A proven track record of working within a payroll environment.
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good working knowledge of GDPR
- System orientated and confident with dealing with spreadsheets and analysis of data. Strong Excel skills - V Look Ups, Pivots, Sum If's
- Excellent current knowledge of UK Payroll Legislation in such areas as tax, statutory payments, NI, Pensions, salary sacrifice, auto enrolment, NMW
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to take ownership of problems and see them through to completion
- Able to work effectively within a team to achieve the overall goal
