The Sikh Gurdwara requires one Temporary Religious Worker, who comes from the Traditional Indian Sikh Priestly order. Applicants must have extensive previous proven experience, must be strictly vegetarian and non-smoker. Applicants must be of Sikh Religion order due to the religious requirements and nature of the job.

Preference will be given to applicants who are British Citizens and Permanent Residents.

- Hours of Work: 40 Hours per weeks
- Required to work mostly during the Weekends and some weekdays

**Education, Experience. Skills, and Language Requirements**:
1. A minimum of five years of previous experience as a Sikh Priest.

2. Shall be trained and skilled in the rites and practices set out in the Sikh tradition.

3. The person should be able to assist priests in Gurdwara.

4. Experience in preparing Parshad and Kitchen Langar.

5. Should be fully proficient in Punjabi Language (reading, writing and speaking) and should also be able to read Gurbani.

**Job description**:

- To help the Head Priest and other priests perform the sacrament of religious events, trending to the sick, needy, and elderly members of the Sikh Community.
- To assist in playing musical instruments while the Head Priest performs Kirtan to the local congregation.
- To assist the Head Priest with their daily chores and organise various religious events at the Gurdwara.
- To assist the trustees and others workers with the daily smooth functioning and running of the Gurdwara.
- To ensure cleanliness and hygiene at premises
- To assist the Kitchen staff with preparation of food, maintain food inventory list and other related duties.
- To report / liaise with the Gurdwara administrator and Chairperson or other designated representative of the employer.
- To adhere to Gurdwara rules, processes, procedures, and policies.
