**Accounts Assistant** Our client is a large, profitable business, multi-faceted and historically embedded in the North East region. It operates in property alongside a variety of traditional enterprises. We are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to this excellent "earlystage" financial role. **_Reporting to the Finance Team Leader the main purpose of the role is to support the team in the processing of Sales and Purchase invoices. Your key responsibilities as Accounts Assistant will include:_** - Matching, checking and coding purchase invoices, ensuring correct VAT is applied - Assisting in preparation of weekly payment runs - Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details - Reconciliation of supplier statements - Liaise with suppliers to resolve queries - Preparing and issuing sales invoices and maintenance of the sales ledger - Chasing outstanding debtor balances - Other adhoc duties as requested **_As Accounts Assistant you’ll need: - ** - Solid experience, likely working as an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger/Accounts Payable Clerk, Sales Ledger/Accounts Receivable Clerk, Finance Assistant or similar in a fast-moving, service-driven environment - Part or fully qualified AAT, CIMA, ACCA or ICAEW - Attention to detail, conscientious, organised and energetic - Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships - Excellent IT literacy - Flexible in respect to day to day duties and hours worked - A positive and progressive approach **_ Benefits and rewards: - ** - Basic salary to £23-27k + pension + benefits - To secure maximum specified pay/rewards, you must possess all outlined experience, skills, qualification and knowledge - Mainly Northumberland office based role - Full time, permanent work Accounts Assistant, Newcastle/Northumberland
