**What you’ll be doing**:
We're looking for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our dedicated catering team at National Railway Museum, York on a flexible, casual basis. As a Catering Assistant, you will contribute to a passionate and friendly team working in a fast-paced environment, delivering exceptional customer service.

The successful Catering Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with basic food production & preparation, customer service and generally supporting the operations while adhering to all Health and Food Safety requirements. In return, you will have the chance to progress with a company that invests in its people, celebrates individuality, and rewards and recognises employees who go beyond the plate.

**Purpose of the role**:

- Basic food preparation, counter set up and serving of food and beverages
- Ensuring the highest level of customer care is delivered to clients and customers
- Demonstrating a can-do attitude towards individual customer requests and strive to exceed customer expectations
- Ensuring correct storage of food items and equipment after service
- Assisting colleagues in a willing and positive manner including assisting with other duties as required
- Complying with Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards

**Who you are**:

- Have a passion for delivering outstanding service, greeting customers with a smile and serving them with pride
- Be a strong and confident communicator
- Willingness to learn
- 'Can do' positive attitude
- Excellent people & teamwork skills
- Available to work at least one weekend day
- Previous experience in catering or customer service is advantageous
