Associate/ Senior Associate

**Associate / Senior Associate - Regulatory, Compliance & Investigations - Manchester**

We are currently looking to recruit an Associate/Senior Associate into our Regulatory, Compliance & Investigations (RCI) within our Manchester office.

The RCI team has national coverage across the UK and handles a very wide range of Regulatory work including: Criminal matters involving health and safety, environmental, road traffic, road transport and operator licensing, food and product safety offences; professional disciplinary tribunals; private prosecutions; attending inquests; and appeals to OFSTED and the Care Quality Commission. Ideally, we are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years plus PQE (other PQEs would be considered) with a solid and proven track record in Regulatory or Road Traffic work.

You will get the opportunity to work on significant contacts with insurer and insured and privately funded clients, together with counsel, expert witnesses, the courts and other parties in a very busy and dynamic team. The role offers significant opportunities for training, growth and development in a unique team at the forefront of Regulatory Law.

You will be learning from industry leading experts in a friendly and committed working environment and get involved in a variety of tasks such as;
- Providing high quality service to clients in a commercial and professional manner managing, under supervision, a caseload of predominantly complex and/or high value cases, and assisting partners on larger matters.
- Maintaining an understanding of the latest developments in H&S and wider regulatory law and to regularly seek to update skills in addition to and outside of the CPD process, sharing learning across the team.
- Being accountable for individual and team financial management ensuring a pro-active approach is taken to meeting individual and team targets.
- Raising your individual profile and that of DWF LLP through coverage in the legal press and DWF promotional material, assisting to maximise own revenue with existing clients through the introduction of clients to other practice areas/groups where applicable.
- Playing a proactive role in business development including writing articles, delivering presentations and facilitating seminars.
- Supporting others to perform to their potential, delegating work, providing technical and strategic advice to more junior fee earners, supervising cases and giving relevant guidance to support the development and progression of others as appropriate. Where appropriate take line management responsibilities.
- Developing strong internal and external working relationships based on trust and respect, ensuring there is regular communication within the practice area/group and with the external clients.
- Understanding the relevant marketplace and identify what opportunities and risks exist and how DWF can exploit or prepare for them.
- Maintaining visibility and accessibility across the team and manage client relationships during delivery of high quality service.
