Job Title: Trainee Estimator / Planner

Hours: 37.5 per week early finish on Fridays (Flexible start finish times)

The Trainee Estimator / Planner will be involved in the following
- Interpreting customer engineering drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costs for materials, labour and services using an ERP system to prepare customer quotations
- Respond to technical queries raised by customers and suppliers
- Provide detailed manufacturing steps including tooling, bills of material and process routings
- Work in conjunction with MRP and the Supply Chain management to optimise the stock levels and fulfil the material parts and services requirements to the correct technical specification
- Expedite purchase orders to support manufacturing and ensure the on time delivery of customer orders.
- Interface with manufacturing and service to fulfil its service/material requirements outside of MRP
- Ensure that the supplier quality certification is kept up-to date on the ERP system.
- To attend weekly meetings with Production to give feedback regarding purchase order statuses.

The position requires competent Microsoft Office skills and any ERP/MRP type system knowledge would be advantageous but training will be provided. The Trainee Estimator / Planner should be able to work on their own initiative but in a team environment withcolleagues interacting with other departments and working to deadlines.
