**North Wales Regional Equality Network (NWREN) is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional individual for the role -**Charity Operational Advisor & Bid Writer

Conditions

10 hours per week, Fixed term contract for ten months.

**Salary**: £15.50 / hour

Holiday entitlement: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro rata)

Flexibility: Contracted to our Penmaenmawr Office with the flexibility of hybrid working

**Job title Charity Operational Advisor** **/ Bid Writer** - part time officer

(Fixed Term contract for 10 months)

**Role**NWREN requires a part time employee (10 hours / week) dedicated to exploring and researching ‘Business Models’ within the voluntary / charitable sectors. Answering to our Business Manager and working alongside a ‘Recruitment and Motivational Speaker’ NWREN is developing a renewed, active and diverse membership. Whilst our core principle to challenge racism remains the same the organisation’s needs, systems and policies require updating to meet the current and future economic development of NWREN.

**Location**The NWREN office is based inPenmaenmawr, Conwy LL34 6LF. We operate across the six local authority areas of north Wales extending to parts of Mid Wales.

**Working hours** Flexible but approximately 10 hours per week - this may include evenings and/or weekends.

The overall objective of this post is to inform and guide NWREN’s Board of Directors in ascertaining the costs and benefits of the different modes of business operation. Investigating the suitability of CIS, CIO, vs Charity etc). NWREN’s current model of operation and particular charitable status prevents both valuable experts and individual activists (who could be seen to have commercial gain) from being on NWREN’s board.

NWREN would like to investigate structures in which a more representative board can be established, conceivably with, Directors, Advisors and general Board members. A constitution allowing us to better respond to the needs of people from diverse ethic heritages.

To build capacity by writing and facilitating community members to write bids.

Given that NWREN operates as a charity within the third sector
- Research and evaluate appropriate alternative operational models to meet the needs of NWREN’s current and future membership.
- Prepare a short factual report for the Board of Directors so they can make an informed decision around which business models best suit the organisation.
- Evaluate the efficacy of internal and external communications to enable NWREN to act as a conduit for community and individual voices
- Design procedures that facilitate linking communications with similar organisations so that information can be easily shared at a policy level highlighting the realities of racism in north and mid Wales
- Review and where necessary re write NWRENs internal policy documents.
- Revisit and regenerate the induction handbook so it is appropriate for new members of NWREN board
- Assist with Bid writing
