Occupational Therapy Specialist

We are looking for dynamic, forward thinking Occupational Therapist to work collaboratively between acute and community trusts, developing relationships and services, pushing the boundaries further than before Working together in this way allows us to provide you with unique development opportunities to support you to flourish and grow in your career.
We know that you will be hugely motivated by this opportunity to make such a substantial difference to Occupational Therapy services, and ultimately our patients. Using your skills, experience and knowledge to provide Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment, recommendations and advice in a wide variety of settings including acute wards, community rehab beds, residential homes and patients homes.
You will be dynamic, full of passion and have strong interpersonal skills that will really embrace the challenges the role will present. No two days will be the same, but we love working together and thinking outside of the box to make real changes with the ultimate reward of making a patient’s journey a success.
**You will rotate every 6 months in the following areas**:
Rapid Assessment Team (LSCFT)
CATCH and Home First (LSCFT)
Lancashire Teaching Hospital - (RPH/CDH medicals)
Provide a high standard of specialist Occupational Therapy input to the designated therapy team. Hours may be required to be worked over 7 days between 08.00am and 08.00pm, depending on service need.
To assess and treat patients within a ward or community setting as an autonomous practitioner
Occupational Therapy assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to contribute to diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
Hold responsibility for own complex caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision.
The postholder will ensure their own personal development and participate in the development of others
To supervise, educate and assess the performance of Occupational Therapy students to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the degree standard
Undertake evidence-based audit and contribute to research projects. Make recommendations to clinical lead/manager for service improvement
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
