As a result of year-on-year success within the company and continued business growth, exciting opportunities have arisen to join our team of bioanalytical scientists. We are responsible for delivering high-quality quantitative bioanalytical data to our clients, supporting projects from early discovery right through to clinical development. As a member of our team, you will develop in-depth technical expertise across all these areas and understand how this data is utilised to support drug discovery and compound development.
Our Role as an Associate Scientist Bioanalytical
As an Associate Scientist in Bioanalytical, you will be primarily laboratory-based, working with our highly skilled team to ensure that bioanalytical assays utilising LC-MS are performed to a high standard and within scheduled timeframes. The teamwork on a broad range of molecule types including small molecules, peptides and challenging newer modalities. In addition to utilizing excellent communication, organizational and technical skills, you will contribute to continuous improvement projects improving laboratory and data workflow processes and evaluating and implementing new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting all aspects of both routine and bespoke bioanalytical assays to support in vivo discovery PK and PD studies, including sample receipt, sample preparation, analysis using LC-MS and data interpretation to high quality, within specified tight timelines.
- Assist with bespoke method development for compounds where generic methods are not successful or suitable.
- Troubleshooting and system maintenance on triple quadrupole or triple TOF instrumentation and co-ordination of engineer visits
- Day to day laboratory tasks including ordering, equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Contributing to our Quality System via preparation of SOPs
- To aid in the development of new technologies and improvements to the current analytical capabilities at Cyprotex.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
- MSc or BSc degree or equivalent with ideally 1-year experience working within a laboratory environment. The experience could be from within a pharmaceutical company, Biotech, CRO or academia.
- A good knowledge of bioanalytical techniques as applied to small molecules, peptides and oligonucleotides.
- Direct experience in _a _bioanalytical laboratory is highly desirable. Knowledge of general laboratory processes is essential and experience in any of the following is advantageous: sample preparation techniques for biological matrices, HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS/MS or LC-ToFMS analysis and subsequent data analysis.
- Strong communication and motivated team player able to contribute to the delivery of high-quality data in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess excellent attention to detail, performing work to an exceptionally high standard, and within the company and statutory safety regulations.
