ElectroRoute, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, is an energy trading company with two main areas of focus:

- Commodity Trading - the company is a significant commodity trader on its own account - trading a range of energy commodities including Power and Gas, in the global energy markets with activities spanning Europe to Japan.
- Client Trading - the company has a growing portfolio of customers in the electricity, natural gas, biomethane and environmental product sectors, with particular focus on renewable power and gas purchase and sale agreements, short term balancing of gas and power, and routes to market for energy producers.

**The Position**

We are looking for a **Senior Carbon Trader **who focusses on the ETS/compliance sector.

We have an existing platform to trade these commodities, and we are looking for an individual who can immediately plug into this infrastructure and generate results.

The successful individual will:

- have an excellent understanding of the drivers and dynamics of carbon markets;
- display a thorough understanding of the regulatory and public policy developments that will affect those markets; and
- take responsibility for his/her book, communicate complex concepts persuasively and bring a breadth of knowledge to the company.

The role will have direct P&L responsibility. This role will have access to the existing Power and Gas Prop Teams, which will bring insights and knowledge from these markets.

**Role Requirements**

The individual is likely to:

- have 5+ years of experience in trading roles in the green/carbon space in the UK and/or Continental Europe;
- have a degree or higher degree; and
- be numerate, articulate and open to exploring complex ideas.

It would be desirable to:

- have a foreign language; and
- green certificate, or electricity or gas experience.

**Location**

The Senior Carbon Trader role will be based in London - relocation assistance is available.
