What is the purpose of the Supply Planning Manager role?
The Supply Planning Manager leads the Supply Planning team who are responsible for ordering product from a global supply base of 3rd party suppliers. The role oversees the execution of process from PO creation through to delivery into the warehouse includinginvoice reconciliation. The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for approximately 300 vendors for a geographical area with responsibility for 6-7 direct reports and £18m spend. Success in the role will be measured by Customer Order Fill Rate, Back OrderValue, Safety Stock Attainment and Working Capital Value.
What will be the responsibilities of the Supply Planning Manager?
- Accountable for PO calculation and creation, confirmation of PO with Supplier and all activities through to receipt of product and 3-way match for invoice payment
- Ensure the Weekly Control Cycle is executed regularly and on time (managing Overdue, Surplus and Expedite Purchase Order categories as per targets)
- Responsible for PO approvals within delegated authority levels
- Support the team in order to achieve all KPIs and performance objective targets
- Coach the team and ensure they are developed with continued growth
- Review processes and drive opportunities to improve processes
- Partner with Finance and Operations to minimize overdue invoice payments
- Promote Supplier Relationship Management and actively engage with key suppliers
- Manage supplier KPIs to support effective decision making
- Chair review meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are prioritized
- Responsible for other delegated authorities: advanced payment, write-off and exceptional invoice payments
- Lead recruitment for new positions within the team
- Management of document retention across the team to comply with audit
- Lead the review, development and implementation of processes and procedures necessary to ensure a continuously smooth supply chain
- Key project lead in strategic drive to upgrade supply chain systems
- Undertake performance reviews with team members
What skills and experience will the Supply Planning Manager have?
Essential:

- Experience in a procurement/purchasing role
- Experience of team management
- Experience with high volume manufacturing or trading
- Familiar with MS Office suite
Desirable:

- MCIPS certified
