Cad Technician

SLR provide expert advice spanning all aspects of highways and transportation planning, design and modelling. We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a CAD Technician to assist colleagues in the delivery of a wide range of transport assessments for various clients across the UK.
- This can be based from any of the following offices: London, Cardiff, Exeter or Bristol.**The role**

Duties will be varied but will include:

- Preparing simple highway designs, figures, and drawings to assist the transport team using AutoCAD
- Undertaking swept path analysis.
- Assisting senior members of the CAD team in the preparation of more complex highway designs.
- Undertaking on site measurements and collecting associated data to inform design work.
- General filing and drawing management.
- Managing work projects in line with client expectations and Vectos/SLR priorities.
- Attending meetings as required.
- Communicating with colleagues as appropriate.
- Maintaining continuous professional development

To be successful, we envisage you'd be able to demonstrate:

- Demonstrable experience in the use of AutoCAD in a consultancy or similar commercial environment, ideally with or working towards an appropriate qualification (HNC/HND) - and a desire to continue to develop professionally.
- Design experience within the Infrastructure sector - an understanding of highway design principles is desirable but not essential, but we would like someone to join who is keen to learn, and to develop a career within highways and transport
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Any experience using Vehicle Tracking, or GIS software is desirable but training will be provided
