Yard Hand

We are a large, modern nursery supplying bedding, pot plants and added value products to major retail customers.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to work as part of a small team assisting in the smooth running of our sites.Your day to day duties will vary greatly and the successful applicant will need to be extremely flexible and enjoy a challenge

Your main duties will include:
- General site maintenance at our main sites. This could include general cleaning duties in the yards and glasshouses. Repairs to glasshouses, building or adapting shop fittings, general building work, welding and carpentry
- Assisting with the set up and maintenance of events at the Outlet including Autumn and Christmas
- Erecting marquees, building retail displays and events displays and miscellaneous displays and items
- Keeping yard and exterior glasshouse areas tidy and general yard maintenance duties as required, including waste removal
- Assisting with deliveries and organising stock
- Operating forklift and other machinery in a safe manner
- Groundwork for site, landscaping and general gardening

Skills:
- Good woodwork, metalwork skills and mechanical skills
- Be enthusiastic, adaptable and enjoy a challenge
- Be able to work as part of a small team as well as independently
- Be creative and flexible
- Have good time management skills and be able to finish projects by the required deadline
- A current forklift licence is an advantage

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: From £9.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Boston: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Facilities Maintenance Occupations: 2 years (preferred)
- Maintenance: 2 years (preferred)
