Nhs Security Officer

**Must* **hold an SIA licence (Door Supervision) and preference if you can drive to travel to other hospitals to help cover.

Our role is to maintain the safety and welfare of NHS staff and patients whilst they're are in hospital. You must be able to understand situations quickly and deal with stressful situations. You must be resilient in dealing with other people's challenging behavior, follow procedures and have excellent communication skills, verbally and written.

Hours of work are typically 07:00-19:00 or 19:00-07:00. Please be aware when applying, you will be required to cover Bedwatches, A&E Security and Roaming Security.

The rate of pay for Bedwatches is £10, and all other roles is £9.50 per hour.

All NHS Security Officers must wear a face mask at all times whilst on duty. Uniform is important at the hospital and all staff should be dressed smart in Lingwood uniform at all times on premises, bare below the elbows is required and SIA licence should be on display.

Please be aware you will be required to:

- Ensure patient confidentiality - no contacting patients, never discuss incidents outside of work
- Incident report
- Deal with mental health patients
- Chose appropriate times for your break (informing NHS staff when taking break)
- Support to staff in caring for patients
- Completion of Log books
- SIA Licence
- Drivers Licence with own vehicle
- Smart appearance and excellent hygiene
- Confident and the ability to deal with challenging
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable with excellent time-management skills
- Have a demonstrable knowledge of the security industry

**Monthly Pay (PAYE)**

Reassurance that you will be paid on the 9th of every month. If the 9th falls on a weekend you will be paid the Friday before.

You are entitled to receive SSP should you fall sick on receipt of Self Certificate. Doctor's note is required for sickness if more than one week.

**Experience**:

- security: 1 year (preferred)
