Teaching Assistant Profound and Multiple Learning

Romano Education are working with a partner Special Educational Needs school in Lancaster to find them a fulltime Teaching Assistant to work in their school starting as soon as possible. This role is to support pupils ages 3 -19 with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
This position is fulltime and the hours are Monday - Friday 8.45am - 3.45pm with a 30 minute lunch break. This role is term time only.
- Pay rate: £13.20 per hour ltd. (£85.80 per day)_
**Some of the main duties of the role will include but are not limited to**:
- To work with groups of children under the supervision of the teacher including the delivery of programmes of work and implementation of support plans
- Supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with special needs ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Give regular feedback on children’s development to the class teacher and file records
- Attend to children’s personal needs, including pastoral, social, health, physical hygiene, and minor first aid and welfare matters
- Establish good relationships with pupils, taking on role model by presenting a positive personal image and responding appropriately to individual needs
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
- To provide a happy, stimulating, safe, and secure environment where all children are encouraged to meet their potential and where their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs are met
- To liaise with parents to ensure that they are happy with the standard of care and have sufficient knowledge of their child’s progress.

Desirable Experience
- Working with school aged children with SEN

**What you will need;**
- Experience within the last two years working with children, this can be in any setting, school, nurseries, scout leader, sports coach etc and can be paid or voluntary work.
- Desired but not essential, experience working with vulnerable adults or children with special needs including ADHD, Autism or SEN.
- Desired but not essential, level 1, 2 or 3 Teaching assistant, supporting children in schools or equivalent childcare qualification
- Desired but not essential, experience working within a Nursing home or with vulnerable adults as a support worker or care assistant.
