**Role Responsibility**
**Logistics Planner**

Reporting to Head of Operations
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- To assist with site health and safety, near miss reporting and accident risk management. The Logistics Planner will operate in line with the management plan and OSHAS45001 objectives to ensure the continued safety of staff, contractors and visitors. The Transport Planner will take an active role in review of risk assessments and control measures relating to logistic activities.
- To carry out effective planning of vehicles as required by the Company’s agreed Collection Service Agreement, actively communicating any unavoidable delays to the agreed collection times.
- To Assist with of Yard in and Yard out functionality working with Operational Leader to maintain container stocks to ensure good container management systems.
- To Lead the Operational Support team, Drivers and to ensure that all KPI’s are achieved in respect of EA paperwork, reporting, to include but not limited to service level reports, ICER and Compliance Reporting and stock management.
- To ensure cost controls for route planning, use of subcontractors and agency workers are managed to increase our transport efficiencies.
- To maintain effective communication with Drivers, Sales, Operations and Customers to provide a high level of customer service and minimise delays and disruption to routes and customer sites. To provide feedback to all interested parties on issues, delays on site, and any non-conforming collections.
- To ensure vehicle inspections, service and MOT schedules in line with the Operator's License and liaise with service providers to minimise disruption to the business. Planning around agreed ‘down time’ to maintain service levels and high-quality customer service.
- To carry out a weekly audit of vehicle daily check sheets and action defects, ensuring these are closed out in a timely manner, maintaining full operational records in line with Operational and legal requirements.
- To keep track of driver tachograph reports, dealing with issues immediately as they arise and taking appropriate action by way of reporting to senior management. To keep records and infringements in line with legal requirements.
- To maintain and update customer records within the Company’s database to ensure accurate reporting.
- Any other reasonable tasks within your capabilities as requested by management with an understanding that working hours are what is required to get the job done and additional time may be required to meet the requirements. Flexibility here is required.
