**Job Title**:
Chief Executive Officer (CEO): £36-42,000 pa; 37.5 hours per week.
**Reporting to**:
Board of Trustees
**Responsible for**:
Fundraising; Business Development; Ongoing Management and Success of Now Charity; Strategic Vision (with Trustees); Financial Management, including Budget Setting; Governance and Policies, Digital Strategy. You may be required to work additional hours to meet deadlines, and attend meetings.
**Overall Purpose of the Post**
To lead Now Charity into the next phase of its development, deliver on its Strategic Plan and build on its financial stability. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, this individual will possess strong people and financial management skills, excellent fundraising and bid preparation abilities, a proven track record of delivery, together with entrepreneurial flair.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
**Fundraising and Strategic Development**
1. To oversee the development and delivery of the Strategic Plan.
2. To produce business plans and fundraising strategies to enable developments within the Strategic Plan.
3. To actively seek out new funding opportunities, develop relations with prospective partners and stakeholders, develop and diversify the Charity’s income streams and range of services.
4. Liaise with funders, undertaking reporting and accounting requirements of funders, building good relationships with funders.
5. Lead on negotiation of contracted services and similar.
6. Lead on the administration of Training Services liaising with colleges and training providers as appropriate.
**Financial Control**
7. Maintain financial systems and ensure adherence to budgets; responsible for compiling records and reports for accounting/audit purposes, in conjunction with the Board Treasurer, Accounts Assistant and the charity’s Accountants/Auditors.
8. Research and produce project/departmental and organisational budgets and ensure their efficient operation and implementation
9. Ensure all restricted funds are secured and spent in line with commitments.
10. Ensure reserves are maintained and properly invested in line with policy.
11. Company Secretary role with responsibility for production of Annual Report and legal compliance, specifically with Companies House and Charity Commission.
12. Risk Management
**Staff Management**
13. Line management of Management Team, including direct supervision and appraisal, ensuring the appraisal process is conducted at all levels of the organisation
14. Recruitment and deployment of staff in line with the Strategic Plan and the overall needs of the Charity
15. Maintenance of secure personnel files on all staff
16. Development and maintenance of effective internal communications
17. Review and update all staff Policies
**Health and Safety**
18. Responsible for the Health and Safety of all staff and customers on behalf of the trustees.
19. Regularly monitor and review Health and Safety in conjunction with relevant Managers, and ensure all departmental and staff compliance.
20. Produce Risk Assessments, policies and related reports where necessary.
**Sales and Marketing**
21. Work with Managers to develop promotional materials and activities, press liaison and publicity events.
22. Expand the Charity’s social media presence.
23. Develop the Charity’s digital market place.
24. Update and improve website as necessary
**IT**
25. With our IT contractors, ensure systems are working correctly.
26. Responsible for Cyber Security.
**Accreditation**
27. Pursue appropriate accreditation as agreed by the Trustees.
**General**
28. Carry out any other tasks within the general remit of Terms and Conditions as required by the Board.
29. Attend occasional training, conferences or meetings outside normal working hours for personal development and/or the development of the Charity.
30. Undertake any other activity required for the smooth running and development of Now Charity.
31. Undertake routine business administration tasks, as necessary.
