We are currently recruiting for a Database Office to work at the Big Cat Sanctuary. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an environment like no other: A centre of excellence dedicated to the care and captive breeding of endangered big cats.
**Position Overview**
Working with the Finance & Partnerships Managers, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate data on BCS’s customer databases, enabling us to liaise with our supporters in a timely and effective manner. This will include creating, maintaining and running import profiles for data from third parties and websites, for marketing and fundraising activity.
We’re looking for someone to develop new and improve existing processes, to maximise the efficiency and use of databases across the organisation, and to assist in the processing of payments and Gift Aid claims. You’ll need to be confident in the production of analytical reports, pro-active, highly organised and able to respond to requests and enquiries in a professional, timely and friendly way.
**Principal Duties & Responsibilities include**:
- To develop and improve the reporting and analysis capabilities
- To support the continuous improvement through process reviews and development
- To support our ongoing CRM projects through contributing to the data migration processes and data preparation
- To help with delivering data selections and handling campaign responses for Fundraising and Marketing activity
- Maintaining accurate and up to date records on BCS Databases and spreadsheets as required
- Compiling reports and answering queries on fundraising activity
- Setting up and maintaining appropriate filing systems for the easy retrieval of documentation
- Proactively participating in the development of administration systems and processes
- Contribute to BCS projects and initiatives
- Help prepare and complete Gift Aid Returns
- Meet deadlines and be accessible to other team members
**Job Requirements**:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels of the organisation
- A clear understanding of data protection regulations and other regulatory frameworks
- Experience claiming Gift Aid and processing Gift Aid Returns
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)
- Some prior knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping and other financial systems would be beneficial
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (the Big Cat Sanctuary is not accessible by public transport)
- Existing Right to Work in the UK (British Citizen, Indefinite Leave to Remain, EEA Citizen with Settled Status or other valid Visa/Work Permit)
**Working Conditions**:
- 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri 09.00-17.00
- Occasional early and late working will be required to accommodate deadlines or special events
- We give statutory holiday entitlement
- Starting salary circa £20,000 PA (depending on qualifications and experience)
- This position is offered initially on a 12-month fixed term contract with potential for development into a permanent position
