Interior Designer

We are a small local building company (8 staff) based in Edinburgh who carry out internal home renovations looking to hire an interior designer on a flexible freelance basis.

**Aim for the role**

To create and be in charge of all design aspects of the business - with a goal of improving our ability to bring a clients vision to life. Have a strong impact on impacting and implementing different designs and styles for cedar through branding, uniforms, social media etc.

**Responsibilities/Duties**
- **Drawings**:Must be able to produce technical drawings, electrical drawings, joinery drawings etc
- **Collaborate with Clients**: Work closely with clients to understand their preferences, needs, and vision for the interior spaces, ensuring their ideas are brought to life in the design process.
- **Conduct Design Consultations**: Conduct initial design consultations to gather requirements.
- **Create Design Concepts**: Develop innovative and visually appealing design concepts that align with the client's requirements and project objectives.
- **Prepare Presentations**: Prepare and present design proposals and mood boards to clients, effectively conveying design ideas and material selections.
- **Order Samples and Materials**: Source and order fabric, furniture, fixtures, finishes, and other materials, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining quality standards.
- **Colour and Material Selection**: Recommend appropriate colour palettes, materials, and finishes that complement the overall design concept and align with the client's preferences.
- **3D Visualization**: Utilise design software to create realistic 3D visualizations and walkthroughs, enabling clients to visualize the final design.
- **Coordinate with Contractors**: Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of the design plans.
- **Budget Management**: Monitor project budgets and provide cost-effective design solutions that meet the client's expectations.
- **Client Communication**: Maintain clear and regular communication with clients throughout the project's lifecycle, updating them on progress and seeking feedback.
- **Interior Styling**: Provide guidance on interior styling, including furniture placement, accessorising, and art curation, to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal.

**Plus any other ideas you may have -** We are more than happy to be guided by someone who would like to make this role there own and run it/manage there schedule however they think is best for the business to improve leads and overall brand of the business

**Information**
- Freelance basis/office
- driving licence preferred
- Some weeks may be busier than others, for example if we have three jobs on at the same time.
- Approximate hours - We think as a **guide **a minimum of **40 hours **per month would be required. This may not be the case and we are happy to monitor it if we think more or less is needed as we go along.
- Monthly Pay
- Negotiable hourly rate (depending on experience)
