We are looking for an experienced kitchen worker to provide Back of House support in a vibrant and friendly coffee shop in Chester City Centre. You would be involved in all aspects of kitchen work including daily preparation of fresh food ingredients (e.g. cleaning, cooking, chopping, storing, refrigerating, labelling, sorting), and preparing sandwiches, toasties and paninis etc to customer order. Also to work closely with baristas who will be grilling hot items at counter.

Also will be required to assist manager with stock taking and and keeping FOH counter stocked with variety of cakes and other sweet snacks.

You will also be assisting with moving crockery and cutlery in and out of dishwashers, plus transporting food down stairs to counter area so must be fit and mobile.

You will also need to be confident dealing with customers on a face to face basis as during busy periods some front of house cover might be required as part of the role.

You will also be required to keep your own workspace hygienically clean and tidy at all times, in compliance with all food safety regulations.

You must be a well organised person who can work well under pressure, but you will receive full training for the role. We would prefer you to have at least 12 months experience working in a similar environment, and we would prefer you to have relevant qualifications; although this is not essential because this job might suit somebody without commercial experience but who enjoys preparing fresh food at home for friends or family. We are a vegetarian and vegan coffee shop so experience in or knowledge of preparing vegetarian / vegan foods would be helpful too.

We are looking for one part-time but permanent member of staff to provide Back of House cover for an existing full-time BOH staff member who already has this role. You will be working for minimum of two x 8 hour days per week (which days of the week flexible and tba by mutual agreement), but with the opportunity to increase hours some weeks by providing additional holiday cover.
