JOB TITLE: Bank Domestic Assistant

**DEPARTMENT**: Domestics

**RESPONSIBLE TO**: Temporary Staffing

To support the professional team by ensuring the effective Ward/Department cleanliness.

Working Relationships

1. Ward/Department Manager
2. Domestic Supervisor
3. All levels of Nursing Staff
4. Multidisciplinary team working within Ward/Department

**Responsibilities**:
To maintain the cleanliness of ward/Department environment in accordance with cleaning schedules.
2. To clean Ward areas effectively, clean infected rooms or areas, change curtains (which will involve the use of high ladders in some areas).
3. To help provide a safe Ward/Department environment by contributing to the maintenance of health and safety of others by following Health and Safety policies at all times.
4. To maintain personal hygiene standards which limits the risk of cross-infection.
5. Effectively utilise domestic supplies and ensure safe storage according to Trust guidelines (COSHH)
6. Work as a member of the Ward/Department team by supporting all levels of staff as required.
7. To have a flexible approach to hours of duty in order to cover weekends when terminal cleaning team are on annual leave/sick leave.

EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT

**Participate in the in-house training as required, including**:
1. Health and Safety
2. Hygiene
3. Food Handling
4. CPR
5. Fire
6. Lifting
