**Controls & Instrumentation Electrician**

The Electrical craftsperson will be working as part of a team alongside the Mechanical and Software engineering teams and will be fully involved in the building and commissioning of new machines, both inhouse and at customers sites.

**Role Entails**:

- Preparation, configuration, installation, and commissioning of bespoke projects inhouse and on customer premises adhering to site specific requirements and processes.
- Read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams and wire accordingly.
- Provide on-site technical assistance and support to customers acting as a liaison between the internal project team and the customer on technical issues ensuring the timely management of issues.
- Deliver on-site customer support and basic training to new and existing customers, as required and assisting customers to solve technical issues with bespoke automation solutions ensuring technical scope is managed.
- Communicate accurate project status to the project leads enabling pro-actively planning.
- Support the machine commissioning activities in collaboration with the commissioning team to a successful FAT & SAT.
- Always demonstrate respect, integrity, trust, and excellence in interactions with all colleagues, customers and suppliers.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as required.
- Have a can-do attitude.
- Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.

**Experience Required**:

- Completed an appropriate trade apprenticeship.
- Able to read and understand technical / design drawings and maintenance manuals for the assembly and repair of assets.
- Extensive experience as a crafts person in the assembly, build, installation, testing, operation and setting of a wide range of heavy industrial equipment and systems.
- Able to work safely and efficiently on electrical systems.
- Building electrical panels and installing electrical wiring for bespoke machinery.
- Testing and inspecting installations to ensure functionality.
- Wiring of industrial electrical equipment.
- Understanding of both single & three phase systems.
- Able to work on both digital and analogue systems.
- Have working knowledge of both inverters and servo driven systems.
- Ability to install all types of containment, ladder, tray, basket, conduit, trunking etc.
- Have the ability to read and install pneumatic systems (Desirable).
- Competent in carrying out Electrical fault finding and rectification.
- Confident in providing detailed defect reports to the project manager or a representative from the Management team.
- Experienced in working with pneumatics, hydraulics and competent with basic Mechanical fitting.
- Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Experience within the build & assembly manufacturer of bespoke equipment (advantageous).
- Flexible approach to work.
- Previous experience in a similar role delivering special purpose machinery from scratch.
- Experience of working within a multi-skilled environment (i.e. knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic components including motors, servos, vision systems).
- Willingness to travel (within the UK and abroad).

**Qualifications required**:

- Apprentice trained in Electrical engineering discipline backed up with practical experience.
- C&G
- BTEC ONC/BTEC HNC
- NVQ
