Trainee Waterfront Fitter

Lang & Potter, a dynamic, bespoke manufacturing company, is currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity for a keen and ambitious trainee waterfront fitter to join our team based at Garden Close.

You will be trained within our company to work alongside, assist and provide support to the present waterfront team representing Lang & Potter while on Board HM naval vessels with various duties including but not limited to the following:

- Allocation and correct distribution of fire safety products to various locations on HM vessels
- Assist in fitting smoke curtains and other soft furnishings on board, when and where required.
- Removal and correct disposal of used and damaged smoke curtains
- Assisting in the surveying on board, identifying correct locations
- Learn measuring and CAD drawing, to enable a finished item to be manufactured.
- Assist in the cutting of smoke curtains in MOD production.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements are met to provide safe working practices.
- Adherence to 6S procedures and audits.
- Contribute to continuous improvement to develop our processes to become more efficient and leaner.
- Some overnights. Hotel accommodation is provided alongside a food allowance. These overnights can be in Portsmouth, Liverpool and in some cases, but very rarely Scotland and Gibraltar. These are not set times and can be 1 overnight or more.
- Any ad-hoc duties as and when required.

£10.00 per hour, 20 days holiday per year plus bank holidays

£15.00 overnight allowance when on fit out, paid monthly, hotel and meal allowance whilst on board

Monday to Thursday 7.30am until 4.30pm and Fridays 7.30am until 12.30pm - 39 hours per week.
