4. To support the school with the engagement of children/young people in education.

**Main tasks**:
1. To work with schools and partners to identify children and families eligible for support.

8. To appropriately handle issues pertaining to confidentiality, information sharing, consent to treatment, the rights of children and young people and the responsibilities of parents and professionals.

9. To develop and deliver flexible and creative, evidence-based programmes of intervention for working with vulnerable families and their children, aimed at addressing a range of issues; with a view to preventing escalation by using both group work and 1-1 approaches.

10. To engage children and families with a programme of activities.

12. Attend relevant training or professional development opportunities relating to this role.

14. To support the Trust in raising additional funds, including attendance at a minimum of two fundraising events a year.

15. Undertake any other tasks commensurate with the grading of the post.

There will be elements in the role that will follow a routine, but a large percentage of the work will vary according to the needs of individual children and families. Support for families will be provided when required so the role may require some evening and weekend working.

This job description sets out the duties of the post at the time it was drawn up. Such duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed. Such variations are a common occurrence and cannot of themselves justify a reconsideration of the grading of the post.

The Education Futures Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants for people working in posts with children and vulnerable adults will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check, with barred list.
