As an Environmental Enforcement Officer, you will be investigating these sorts of incidents and helping Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council tackle this anti-sociable behaviour.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is ambitious in its aim to tackle those who fly-tip in the borough. We have a proven track record in tackling those who don’t respect our environment and an appetite to address this problem behaviour.

In the recent past the council has made a significant investment in surveillance cameras as part of our approach to tackling this behaviour. It is already making a difference and we want to continue this and achieve more. The council has developed an excellent track record of successful prosecutions in recent years and building on these successes and tackling fly-tippers is a priority for us.

You will be one of two officers working alongside each other and as part of the wider Environmental Health and Regulatory Services teams.

To join our team you will need to be ambitious, collaborative, and have a passion for upholding high environmental standards to protect the borough against this behaviour.

Your specific priority and focus will be the investigation and enforcement of waste offences, using our surveillance cameras. You must be an excellent communicator to build and develop excellent relationships with colleagues, partner agencies and other stakeholders to support and deliver this work. You must have experience in dealing with the public and be able to adapt your communication style appropriately to suit your audience.
