Leading global law firm seeks to appoint a Network Security Engineer / Network Security Architect to join the design and architecture team in a hands-on technical capacity and be responsible for the ongoing improvement of network security across the globalenterprise.
The position will take a 70% focus on data networks built on Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls and 30% of the time focussed on server infrastructure including Windows, Linx, Azure and AWS cloud services.
Whilst the role is based within design and architecture the successful Network Security Engineer / Network Security Architect will liaise with the InfoSec team who will run all penetration tests and advise them on the state-of-the-art in terms of network technologywith specific emphasis on Cisco and Palo Alto tech. You will engage with Network Engineers and provide them with guidance on architectural and build techniques which will support securer networking and assist them with network hardening work. This will thenextend to the infrastructure teams where you will advice infrastructure analysts on design and build or secure infrastructure environment and once again undertake server hardening tasks albeit with some elements of automation undertaken using Powershell, Bashor other tools as required.
Aside from this hands-on design, architecture and engineering work you will be required to engage with senior level business stakeholders and advise them on available technical capability, required investment in resources, hardware and software and communicatecomplicated technical issues and the risks they pose to programmers, network engineers, system administrators and the business as a whole.
As a technical lead within the team you may find use for / have an opportunity to use a range of tools such as Fire Eye Cyber Threat Mapping, Gigamon Network Visibility/Discovery tools, any Endpoint Detection & Response tools, White Hat ethical hacking techniques,or Prisma Cloud Security (Palo Alto)
- experience with some or all of these is NOT required but any exposure would be of interest.
We are searching for a Network Security Engineer / Network Security Architect / Network Security SME who is a technical, hands-on security engineer who can provide input towards architectural direction to both business and IT Teams. You will be well versedin Penetration Testing (although this will not be undertaken in this role; it will be handled by the InfoSec team) and capable of undertaking Network and Server hardening work. You will be very comfortable with both Cisco Routers, LAN/WAN data networks andPalo Alto Firewall technology. Ideally, you will also be comfortable with infrastructure inc Windows, Linux, AWS and Azure and ideally have some automation and scripting experience with Powershell and Bash. Finally, you will be capable of leading technicalinitiatives and engaging with senior level business personnel to relay complex technical issues in a coherent fashion. Excellent communication skills pre-requisite.
