**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Business in key policy adherence and monitoring.
- Keep Management aware of the risk and control environment of the Business through continuous and open communication, buy preparing and host Business Risk Committee meetings with Senior Management to present and follow-up on issues, concerns and corrective action plans.
- Update and maintain a robust Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) in compliance with the Citi Operational Risk Policy.
- Ensure adherence to the Citi Operational Risk Policy in regard to operational loss approvals and reporting.
- Ensure that the Business has a sound control environment from an information security perspective, including adherence to relevant policies where appropriate.
- Responsible for the coordination of key projects, including ensuring that annual Know Your Client (KYC) periodic reviews are timely executed.
- Serve as main point of contact for audit groups and ensure that all audit requests are timely and appropriately provided.**Qualifications**:

- 7+ years’ experience in Sanctions risks frameworks, including trade sanctions and export controls (either first or second line of defence)
- Knowledge and expertise of sanctions regulations, risks and typologies
- Demonstrable experience in implementing sanctions programs
- Demonstrable experience of AML & Sanctions risk management frameworks
- Detailed expertise of Investment Banking business activities and associated key regulations
- Demonstrated ability and confidence to challenge business management, escalate issues and press for change.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and persuasive with the judgement and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively across a global organisation.

This new role is part of ICG Risk & Control Team supporting the Head of ICG Risk & Control, Financial Crime Risk lead in the oversight of the ICG Business’ end to end control framework in respect of Financial Crime (i.e. AML (including Terrorist Financing), Sanctions, Anti -Bribery and Tax Evasion) and Compliance Risk.

Reporting into the ICG Risk & Control Financial Crimes Lead, the role will work with existing in-business control resources across ICG lines of business and with Control Function Colleagues in Independent Compliance Risk Management to ensure control issues are promptly identified and appropriately escalated, and are being addressed in a robust, consistent and timely manner. The role will support the ICG Financial Crimes Risk Lead on a range of ICG and Citi wide control initiatives in relation to financial Sanctions, trade sanctions and export controls risks to ensure the ICG lines of business are sufficiently connected into those programs and addresses their objectives; and will work with 1LOD and 2LOD to ensure the overall assessment of the control environment is appropriately presented for effective oversight.

The role will be primarily responsible for Sanctions risk, (including trade sanctions and export controls) and a holistic, consistent approach to sanctions risk management across the ICG businesses and the oversight of key control remediations for the business and will undertake specific control event investigations and lessons learned studies as required. The individual will work with counterparts across other ICG businesses to share control best practices.

- Work with in-business risk and control resources to co-ordinate key Sanctions (including trade sanctions and export controls) control frameworks across the ICG businesses
- Act as a first point of contact for Sanctions related (including trade sanctions and export controls) matters within the ICG Financial Crimes Risk & Control team
- Drive a consistent and holistic approach to Sanctions and wider Financial Crimes risk management across ICG.
- Conduct reviews of Sanctions processes and procedures to ensure policy requirements are fit for purpose and have been implemented consistently, with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Assess regulatory and business impact of proposed changes to AML and Sanctions policies/procedures/guidelines, and work collaboratively with AML and Product Compliance to ensure the business operates in line with regulatory requirements.
